Here is a link to two short videos which should give you a good idea of what you'll be doing.
Course Information
There are three line courses where you visit controls in a specified order
1 Yellow 2.3km with 55m climb. Controls (checkpoints) are very easy to find, mostly on paths, ideal for younger children and complete beginners.
2 Orange 2.6km with 65m climb. Controls are on or near paths with some route choice. Good for progressing juniors and adult newcomers who are reasonably confident reading a map.
3 Green 4.6km with 130m climb. Controls are away from paths giving more navigational challenge. Suitable for those with some experience.
You will run a bit further than the above straight line distances.
There is also a Score course alternative where you visit as many controls as you can in an hour. No set course to follow. 10 points per control and 5 point penalty for each minute or part minute late back
Either
1) Find as many controls as you can in a hour in any order,
OR
2) The controls will be in three sets, numbered in the 50's (10 controls), 60's (8 controls) and 70's (9 controls). Find as many controls in any one set then move to a different set and finish on the final set. Visit as many controls as you choose in any one set before moving on to another set. No return to a group that has been left.
Separate results for options 1) and 2). You can decide between them at the start on the day. Suitable for anyone.
The controls are activated for contactless punching for those that have their own SI card but everyone must push the Start and Finish
