Local level event
What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun6 App.

We have maps available on all courses as at 5pm on 15/8 so we have reopened entries for anyone still wanting a run. Enter via racesignup before you leave home as there are no cash or card entries at the event.

Car Parking will be in the main Country Park car park.
The Event Centre will be near the watersports centre and cafe.
Pre-event Details
Map / Terrain
Leybourne Lakes consists of a series of lakes with several paths around them and an area of open land in the centre.
Here is a link to two short videos which should give you a good idea of what you'll be doing.
Course Information
The Yellow and Orange courses are entirely within the country park with no road crossings.
The Green and Score courses have some controls in the country park but close to paths and several controls in the urban area of Larkfield. Not suitable for unaccompanied children under age 16.
Yellow 2.5km. Controls (checkpoints) are very easy to find, mostly on paths, ideal for younger children and complete beginners.
Orange 2.7km Controls are on or near paths with some route choice. Good for progressing juniors and adult newcomers who are reasonably confident reading a map.
Green 5.4km Controls are away from paths giving more navigational challenge. Suitable for those with some experience.
You will run a bit further than the above straight line distances.
Score: Visit as many controls as you can in an hour. No set course to follow.
The controls will be in two sets, numbered in the 50's and 60's.
Either
1) Find as many controls as you can in a hour in any order, OR
2) Find as many controls in one set then move to the other set. Visit as many controls as you choose in one set before moving on to the other set. No return to a group that has been left.
You have a time limit of 60 minutes with penalties for exceeding the allocated time.
Separate results for options 1) and 2). You can decide between them on the day. Suitable for anyone but unaccompanied Under 16's must stay within the confines of the Country park..

Families and other groups are most welcome. Enter the name of one person in the group only and add +x (e.g. +2 for a group of 3 people) to the surname for other members to the group. Only one entry is needed and we issue one map to the group and one electronic timing chip to the group.
Registration and Start times
You can arrive at any time from 10:30 to 11:45 and start at any time between 11:00 and 12:00

Dog restrictions
Well behaved dogs under close control and on a short lead are permitted at the event centre and on the courses.
