Christmas Challenge Results

Last updated: Wed 11 Jan 2023

The results are now in. Well done to everyone who took part.

Thanks to everyone who took part and for all your positive feedback. The area was a little more challenging than previous fun events with high scoring letters placed on the perimeter and there was the possibility of cutting across between letters if you were brave. N and E were deliberately quite close in distance but separated by a few contours.

We initially tried to put all of the virtual controls off paths to prevent unintentional punching but paths were best at providing satellite reception.

The highest score was obtained by Alan Hickling with the following words claimed:

PUY, QUAY, QUEY, QUAYS, PUMP, SUQ, YOU, PUP, OPAQUE, TYPY, QUEASY, QAT, CUP, MOP

Alan also came lowest as he managed to run too close to the finish after only 3 minutes. Others took another tack, obviously motivated by the prize for the best phrase/words as judged by the organiser we had "QUIZ VERY TOUGH BAH HUMBUG" attempted by Iain Ambler of CHIG and from Rob Sibley an attempt at "MINCE PIES YULE LOG". Unfortunately Rob had difficulty locating the "N" and ended up with "MICE PIES" (Not so tasty!)

But the winner of this category was Andrew Evans with:

"NICE ONE COLIN AND ROSIE GREAT FESTIVE FUN"
