What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun6 App.

Course Information

Suitable for all abilities. Mass start 19.30hrs. 60 minute score event. Twenty controls in total fifteen worth 10 points and five “bonus controls” worth 20 points. Collect as many as you can within the time allowed

Course closes 20.30hrs. A penalty of 10 points will be deducted for each minute or part minute you are late back.

Under 16's may take part in this event non-competitively provided they are accompanied by an adult at all times and the adult assumes full responsibility for them. Note that neither the junior nor the accompanying adult will be eligible for KNC League points.

Entry Details

Pre-entry only online through www.racesignup.co.uk. Entries will stay open until 19:20 23 March 2023 at the event but entry must still be by racesignup and it is recommended that you enter online before leaving home to be sure of a map being available for you.

Fees : BOF Seniors £5, Non-BOF Senior £6 and Juniors £3. SI dibber hire £1. SIAC dibber hire £2.50.

Registration and Start times

Mass start at 19:30 There is a short walk to the start and so we will be leaving registration at 19:20hrs. Please arrive in good time.

Finish : Punching finish. Please report to the download as soon as you finish.

Courses close 20:40 after which controls will be collected

Equipment: SPORTIDENT timing will be used. Controls will be SIAC enabled (contactless) but not the finish which will be punched. Standard non-SIAC dibbers can be used as normal punching. If you don’t have a dibber, they are available to hire when you register in advance (see above). SI dibbers can be hired for £1. SIAC (contactless) dibbers can be hired for £2.50. Lost hired dibbers will be charged at a cost of £30 for SI and £60 for SIAC.

Facilities

Toilets will be available in the Leisure centre adjacent to the car park. No muddy shoes please.

Results will be available at the après-O on the night (see below) and on the DFOK website within a few days.

Après-O - to be held at Verdigras on the High Street, less than 5 mins walk from Finish. We have the downstairs riverside terrace reserved - outdoors but we have been assured it's undercover and has some very powerful heaters!. Food is a buffet style selection for £7 per head. Please book and pay for this when you make your entry. Do come and join us for some food and drink, results and prize giving.

Safety Notes

Please take care when crossing all public roads.

Competitors to wear light coloured clothing, or reflective tops, and have a torch.

Railway lines must only be crossed at marked points and rivers must only be crossed at bridges.
