What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun6 App.
Overview
An opportunity to get active in this beautiful country park on the launch date of a new Veteran Tree Trail as an additional activity offered to park visitors. You will experience the fun of finding your way with a map along a route to locate the recently installed posts at each location. You will be able to see where you are on the route using your mobile phone and will even hear a bleep on your phone when you reach each tree, so you'll know you're at the right place.. A whole family activity!
There is no charge other than the normal parking cost and no need to register in advance. Just turn up at the main car park on the day for a new walking (or jogging, running!) experience using up to date technology.

Pre-event Details
Map / Terrain
You will be provided with a detailed map of the whole of the Country Park showing where the 10 locations are. Arrows on the map provide a suggested route but you can visit the veteran trees in any order that you choose and visit as many as you wish to.
Assistance is being provided to help to get you started, including guidance on how to hold your map so that it is orientated in the correct way to make it easy for you to use it.
Course Information
The start is by the toy train(it's static!) that is a recent addition to the country park. It is very close to the car park.
Once you have visited all the Veteran Trees, or been to as many as you want to visit, please return to the train to complete your activity. You will then be able to see your route on the App and how many trees you successfully registered a visit to.
Entry Details
No entry fee and no need to register in advance. Turn up and enjoy the experience of seeing some majestic trees.
Registration and Start times
You can start at any time between 10:00 and 15:00. Look for the tall light blue Find Your Way sail banner.
Download the free MapRun6 App before you arrive if possible and add you details to register. This can also be done when you arrive for the activity using 4G but mobile phone reception near the Visitor Centre is not good hence why it is best to do this in advance.
There will be a QR code to scan for the course of your choice which will enable you to add the course into the App when you arrive at the Country Park. This does not require 4G.
On the course, the App uses the GPS location finder within the mobile phone, also not requiring you to use 4G.
Facilities
There is a cafe and toilets at the Visitor Centre adjacent to the car park.
Parking costs £1.70 for a weekday.
You can use the pay by phone option to pay for your parking. It is simple to use and do not worry if you don't have any phone signal at the park, you have until 11:59pm on the day of your visit to pay via the paybyphone app. The paybyphone app provider charges a separate fee of 20p to use this service. The location number for Lullingstone Country Park is 800271.
Dog restrictions
Dogs are allowed at this activity but please keep them under close control on a short lead
