What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun6 App.

Overview
This is the first of three events comprising the City of London weekend (Fri 19th - Sun 21st September).
A park race to warm you up and practice your navigation ahead of the London Euro City Race in this hilly location with splendid views to the north from near to the start towards the sweeping curves of the River Thames and beyond to the financial district of Canary Wharf.

The Event Centre is at the Richard The First, 52/54 Royal Hill, Greenwich, London, SE10 8RT.
Greenwich station has excellent transport links from central London and further into Kent. The rail links are South Eastern, Thameslink and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). See www.southeasternrailway.co.uk for South Eastern and Thameslink services and www.tfl.gov.uk for DLR services or googlemaps public transport options from elsewhere.
The event centre is a 1k walk from Greenwich station.

The map is 1:5000 with 2.5m contours printed on waterproof paper
The Greenwich Meridian passes through the centre of the park where the Observatory is located. During your run you will cross between the western and eastern hemispheres several times. The park rises from north to south with a change of elevation of 30m from the lowest to the highest point. There is a steep slope up to the observatory with several spurs and re-entrants. The southern most higher part of the area is largely flat.

Entry Details
Entries have now closed
All hired SIAC and SI cards will be collected in after the Greenwich Park event and one will be reissued for the Saturday event if requested.
Registration and Start times
Start times are from 17:00 to 18:45. Please select your 15 minute start time block preference when you enter. We are allowing starts as late as possible within the constraints of the park closing time but please do not select the last start time block if you are able to get to the area in time to start earlier. This will be appreciated by those travelling to the event after work on Friday.
Courses will close very promptly at 19:30 and controls will start to be collected in at that time with a sweep around the park so that all controls have been collected by 19:50 ahead of the park closing time.
Facilities
The Event Centre is at the Richard The First, 52/54 Royal Hill, Greenwich, London, SE10 8RT.
Please only use the toilet cubicles to change where absolutely necessary as this creates queues for everyone. Note that there are no showers. There are toilets in Greenwich Park close to the start.
We have access till the pub shuts, so please stay after your run.
Dog restrictions
Sorry, no dogs allowed on the courses at this event but they can be brought to the start and kept there whilst someone runs
