What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun6 App.

This is event 5 of the summer evening Park Race Series.
Danson Park is largely open parkland with several interesting features including a mansion, lake and an adventure playground.
Expect some fast running with plenty of route choice and a "super-sprint" section to finish!

Directions / Parking
Our Event Centre will be at The Guy, Earl of Warwick PH, Park View Rd, Welling DA16 1TB. This is a 15 minute walk from Welling station with frequent trains from Charing Cross, Waterloo East and London Bridge. Frequent buses 89, 486 or B16 from close to Welling station to right outside the pub (3 stops). Free parking along Park View Road

Course Information
Short course - 2.5k
Long course - 5.3k
Above distances are measured on a straight line basis, actual running distances will be around 15% longer
Long course winning time is expected to be around 25 mins.
Entry Details
Entry in advance only via racesignup
Standard entry - Seniors £6, Juniors (under 21 on 31 December 2025) £3
Additional £2 for any Senior that is not a member of British Orienteering (or join here now, selecting DFOK as your club, for under £14 ) and benefit from the member discount and a range of other DFOK offerings!)
Electronic chip hire is £1 for standard and £2.50 for contactless punching (limited availability). Lost cards £30/£65 respectively.
Registration and Start times
Start and Finish are a further 650 metres walk from the Event Centre
Enquiries will be open from 17:45. Starts from 18:15 to 19:30.
Entries via racesignup will be kept open until 19:00 subject to maps being available.
Facilities
Usual pub facilities with drinks and an extensive food menu, toilets and a place to leave kit at the Event Centre
First aid kit at the Event Centre on a largely self help basis with a qualified sports first aider present
Dog restrictions
Dogs on a short lead and under control at all times are welcome on the courses
