What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun6 App.

Pre-event Details

Course Information

Courses: 60 minute score course, suitable for all abilities. Please be ready to leave for the start by 19:20hrs as there is a short walk to the start. Mass start 19.30hrs. 60 minute score event. Twenty controls in total made up of two sets of ten controls (60s and 70s). Visit as many controls in one set of ten (in any order), before switching to the second set. No change over control. Each control is worth 10 point. Course closes after 60 minutes. A penalty of 10 point will be deducted for each minute or part minute you are late back.

The competition area does involve a couple of quiet rural road crossings.

The map is 1:7,500 scale and updated to February 2023. Maps will be printed on waterproof paper.

Equipment: SPORTIDENT timing will be used. Controls will be SIAC enabled (contactless) but not the finish which will be punched. Standard non-SIAC dibbers can be used as normal punching. If you don’t have a dibber, they are available to hire when you register in advance (see above). SI dibbers can be hired for £1. SIAC (contactless) dibbers can be hired for £2.50. Lost hired dibbers will be charged at a cost of £30 for SI and £60 for SIAC.

BOF Seniors £5, Non-BOF Senior £7 and Juniors £3.
Group participating together - £8 (includes one map and one SI dibber)
SI dibber hire £1. SIAC dibber hire £2.50.

Finish: Punching finish. Please report to the download as soon as you finish.

Facilities

No public toilets in the vicinity. Various pubs on the A25 plus Tesco Supermarket at Riverhead, Sevenoaks (TN13 2QS) or M25 Clacket Lane Services.

Results will be available at the après-O on the night (see below) and on the DFOK website within a few days.
Après-O : White Hart, High Street, Brasted TN16 1JE. The pub serves food until 21:00hrs.
