What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Overview

An opportunity to get active in this beautiful country park with a choice of three courses to suit all ages. You will experience the fun of navigating your way round a course set up on a map but with no markers on the ground. You will hear a bleep on your mobile phone when you reach each checkpoint on the course. A whole family activity!

There is no charge and no need to register in advance. Just turn up at the main car park on the day for a new walking (or jogging, running!) experience using up to date technology.

Course Information

Three courses as follows:

A: a short course ca 3km entirely on paved paths or other hard surfaces suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs

B: A longer course ca 5km taking you to some of the lesser traversed areas within the park

C: A "score course" where you have 60 minutes to go where you please visiting as many of the checkpoints as you can in any order

Entry Details

Registration is open from 10:30 until 12:00 near to the car park. Look for the tall light blue Find Your Way sail banner. There is no charge for this activity.

Start when you are ready to go up to 12:00.

Download the free MapRun6 App before you arrive if possible and add you details to register. This can also be done when you arrive for the activity using 4G.

Parking fee of £1.00 for all day by cash only on an honesty box basis.

Facilities

There are no toilets at the Country Park. Customers of nearby supermarkets and petrol stations can use the facilities at these before you arrive.

There is no cafe.

Dog restrictions

Well-behaved dogs on a lead are allowed at this event.
