60 minute Score event

Download the App MapRunF to your mobile phone then within the App, go to UK, then Kent, then Maidstone and the event called Leybourne.  Once done, press Go to Start and the map should appear.

All controls in the Country Park are on paths or very close to paths. But in some cases there may be a more direct non-path route choice. Most controls in the urban area are on footpaths, with a few at road junctions and one postbox.

This event crosses busy roads hence the area outside the park must not be attempted by anyone under the age of 16, even if they would be accompanied by an adult. However, there are plenty of controls to find within the park and these have the highest points score for juniors.

The control descriptions are here but they are all obvious from the map so you probably do not need to take these with you.

There is a penalty of 10 points for each minute or part of a minute late back.

Ensure social distancing is maintained at all times. In line with current Government guidance, members are to complete these courses within the latest Government guidelines. The main path north and east of the start can get quite busy at times so allow time to let others pass you or leave the path momentarily where it is feasible to do so.

This is roughly 50m East of the We Anchor In Hope pub and 400m East of Woodlands Farm.

Parking: Rokesby Close itself is quite narrow so it is better to park on Bellegrove Road.

As with all street orienteering events please take care crossing roads. There are many suitable crossing points on all the major roads in the area. Take particular care at the traffic lights in Welling town centre where traffic can emerge from unexpected directions at quite high speed.
