Lloyd Park

Where: Lloyd Park & East Croydon. Start and Finish is at NE corner of the car park by the Lloyd Park tram stop = CR0 5RA.

Parking: Lloyd Park car park on Coombe Road.  There is 3 hours free parking, but you have to take a ticket from the machine.  If full, there should be space on the roads opposite.

The ticket machine is within the start triangle, so do not collect your ticket with Go To Start set ready.  The start also may be triggered by driving close to that corner. If you inadvertently trigger the Start before you are ready to go, go to Results and swipe to the right to delete the event. Reload it from the server.

When: At any time you choose.

Line course entirely within Lloyd Park:

A line course with 19 controls so the controls must be taken in order. This course finishes about 75m west of the start.
Print the map of the course. This is an orienteering map and the control descriptions are on the map.
Download the App MapRunF to your mobile phone then within the App, go to UK, then London South East and select Croydon and the event called Lloyd Park Line. Once done, press Go to Start and the map should appear. Once you know you have access to it, click on Results and then Exit. Once any event is in Results you can always access it later (doing this will avoid the App starting before you are ready to go). When you are ready to go, click on the event in the results and then click Go to Start. Click here for Guidance on how to use the App.

Score event in Lloyd Park and East Croydon streets:
A 60 minute score event.
Print the map of the course. This is an Open Orienteering Street O map.
Controls are a mixture of post boxes, fire hydrants and path/road junctions. CDs are not on the map and loose CDs are here.

There is also a blank orienteering map of Lloyd Park here if you need to see more detail within the park.

There are 30 controls of  points value as follows:  1 to 10 = 10 points; 11 to 20 = 20 points; 21 to 30 = 30 points.  There is a penalty of 10 points for each minute or part of a minute late back.

In line with current Government guidance, members are to complete these courses alone, within a household group, or with one person from outside their household and ensure social distancing is maintained at all times.
The Score event crosses busy roads hence must not be attempted by anyone under the age of 16, even if they would be accompanied by an adult.

As with all street orienteering events please take care crossing roads. There are many suitable crossing points on all the major roads in the area.  Note that trams are street running on the 800m length nearest to East Croydon station, so take extra care there.
