Greater London Orienteering Summer Series 2018 (GLOSS)
Another exciting schedule of 5 Summer events in late June/July has been put together for the coveted prize of the London Bus trophy. This is a team event with the top 6 individual runners counting towards the club's total score. It is a handicap event based on your British Orienteering ranking points (or otherwise for those who do not have ranking points). This means that anyone can do well. In 2017, a DFOK club member won all but one of the 5 events after the handicap had been applied. The GLOSS 2018 flyer is here and there’s a GLOSS home page. See you there!

Kent Night Cup (KNC)
With the clocks going forward a few weeks back that marked the end of the 2017/18 Kent Night Cup season. This was another successful series with 25 events put on over six months by the organising clubs (SAX/DFOK/SO/MV). They attracted 154 competitors, with 19 from DFOK, including a few new to regular night orienteering. The leading DFOK performers were:
6th Andrew Pitcher
9th Neil Speers
21st Dave Cave-Ayland
36th Julie Collins
44th Rosie Merry
61st Hayley Collins
Plans are already starting to take shape for next season, with DFOK putting on six events between October and March (generally around the middle of the month). If you are interested in taking part in the series next winter and want information then let me know. Similarly, if you are not one of our regular KNC organiser/planners and would like to arrange one (and collect the 40 points for doing so) then contact me.
Neil Speers (DFOK KNC Coordinator)
