ORGANISER'S COMMENTS

With unrestricted visibility and negligible undergrowth, Greenwich Park is always going to favour runners. The leading times were fast and close showing that those lost seconds could have seriously affected finishing positions. I felt suitably admonished on overhearing that the White course was considered to be
too easy, so perhaps the challenge could have been made more severe. Fortunately it was unhampered by the vandalism of controls that has marred previous events here: An otherwise bright sunny day was, however, briefly disrupted by a wild and windy cloudburst that threatened to flatten base camp and must have been rather unpleasant for those who were out at the time
