Members Shine in the dark
The 26 event Kent Night Cup series reached a conclusion for 2021/22 in late March. Joel Hallberg finished in top place in the men's league and Rachel Collins was top of the women's league giving DFOK the highest ranked competitors for several years. Also of note was that DFOK members occupied 5 of the top 10 places with a tussle between Neil Speers and Andrew Pitcher for 5th place going to the last two events. Congratulations to the 22 club members who participated in at least one event in the series and thanks to the club members and David Float who volunteered to organise and plan one or two events in the series.

Compass Sport Trophy 2022Balcombe Estate
A few photos from today's Compass Sport Trophy at Balcombe Estate. Thanks Mole Valley Orienteering Club for organising the event. DFOK members came back into download with many a tale of mud , steep climbs and cliffs. Well done to David Lobley for completing the course without his footwear as they disintegrated on route. Still managed to bring them home as a trophy though.
Luke selected for the Lagganlia Junior Training Camp
We have four juniors currently in the South East Junior squad, one of the highest number of members of any club in the South East. The club is delighted to hear that Luke Bennett has been selected to attend the junior development training camp at Lagganlia near Aviemore in July. This is a great achievement recognising the progress in his orienteering that Luke has achieved in the last few years. Luke is here on the right with father Keith and brother Jake.
