UK Urban League

Regional level event

What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun6 App.

Report

We hope you enjoyed today's event at Thamesmead. The rain stayed away and everyone seemed to have a good work out. Well done!

Luke and I were very pleased with the many positive comments about the courses and the event as a whole. Thank you. It makes all the effort worthwhile!

We would like to thank all our helpers (Allison Page, Andrew Evans, Antoine Pesenti, Dave Cave-Ayland, David Dawson, David Lobley, Dimitre Poydovski, Geoff Goodwin, Ian Catchpole, J-B Rae Smith, Jake Bennett,. John Tzanetis, Julie Lobley, Keith Parkes, Philip Craven and Tina Bennett) for setting up the event, meeting and explaining the courses to entrants, manning the start, processing results, and collecting in the controls and packing up afterwards.

We are grateful to Peabody Trust for their kind permission for us to hold this event on their land and for the use of the Nest Building as our Event Centre.

Finally, we thank everyone who generously donated for the drinks and cakes and hope you enjoyed them. You contributed an amazing £325 for the DFOK Junior Squad. This will be put to very good use shortly.
