Map / Terrain
Here is a link to two short videos which should give you a good idea of what you'll be doing https://www.dfok.co.uk/schools...
The area is a country park not close to urban areas. It has a mixture of forest, mainly deciduous trees and many brown features such as hills, pits and depressions. The undergrowth varies across the whole range that's possible i.e. some lovely runnable forest to areas that you will want to choose a route to avoid. There is an extensive network of paths giving a lot of decisions to be made by younger participants to be sure you take the right path..
The map is 1;7,500 and will be printed on waterproof paper
Course Information
There will be separate courses for pupils in years 5 to 13 but it is the pupil's date of birth that determines their class for this event rather than their school year.
Further information on dates of birth may be found at https://www.bsoa.org/ in the box under the National Competition.
Boys and girls in each year will run different courses.
