What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Directions / Parking
The Railway Tavern is 5 minutes walk from Lower Sydenham station which is on the Hayes line with services from Charing Cross and Cannon Street via London Bridge.
For those who do not need to pick up a hired dibber there is the possibility of going straight to the start (w3w rests.fired.violin) which is close to Beckenham Hill station on the Blackfriars to Orpington/Sevenoaks line.

Open parkland with areas of woodland and a lake. Most of the running is in the open areas or on the paths, but there is some running in the forest which at this time of year is not easily passable, with substantial amount of undergrowth.

Facilities
The event centre is at the Railway Tavern, 401 Southend Lane, Lower Sydenham SE26 5BH w3w drill.stop.ladder.
The proprietor does not normally serve food but is kindly willing to offer us a Turkish Mezze buffet for those booking it in advance only to enable us to have our usual apres-O.
There is a large room available to leave clothing in at your own risk, toilets to change and drinks.

The start and finish are approximately 2k from the event centre.
Look for the tall blue DFOK sail banner not far from the north western entrance to Beckenham Place Park
Shorts are permitted although are not advisable as there are a few areas of undergrowth which will be encountered on the courses.
