Details of each option
1 60 minute Score course
Print the map of the course
Download the App MapRunF to your mobile phone then within the App, go to UK, then Kent and select Dartford Summer Series 2020 and the event called Dartford Centre. Once done, press Go to Start and the map should appear.
Most controls in the urban area are postboxes but some are on footpaths or at road junctions. The control descriptions are here.
This course crosses busy roads hence the area outside the park must not be attempted by anyone under the age of 16, even if they would be accompanied by an adult.
There is a penalty of 10 points for each minute or part of a minute late back.
There are a lot of roadworks in central Dartford. If heading south towards the park from control 17, keep left when the pavement splits and take extra care crossing the central ring road at this point.
2 Line course in Central Park, Dartford
Print the map of the course. The map contains the control descriptions.
Download the App MapRunF to your mobile phone then within the App, go to UK, then Kent and select Dartford Summer Series 2020 and the event called Central Park. Once done, press Go to Start and the map should appear.
The course is 2.6km. Two fences are not marked on the map but are obvious when there.
Ensure social distancing is maintained at all times. In line with current Government guidance, members are to complete these courses alone, within a household group, or with one person from outside their household from whom they must stay two metres apart at all times. There is a lake area at the southern end of the park but it was not considered to be feasible to use this for this activity because the paths are fairly narrow and the lake is popular with anglers. The angling locations are very close to the path.
A few controls on the Score course are on or near Dartford High Street, which may be noticeably busier with pedestrians, so be aware of others, especially with social distancing, and possibly time your run when there are fewer shoppers around.
