Permanent Orienteering Course
Once you have a school orienteering map it can be useful to set up what we call a POC (Permanent Orienteering Course).
This involves identifying some key features on your map and marking them with POC Plaques. (See equipment page for sourcing these plaques.)
There are 25 in a set and it is best to use 20 of these in the above permanent way and 5 or so mounted on wooden stakes that can be placed in different places when needed..
If you set up a number of courses in Purple Pen (see Purple Pen page) then it saves a lot time in setting out your course and offers a whole variety of courses at the touch of a button. See an example of a school POC below.
