The Woodlands Farm Trust has a permanent orienteering course both in the farmyard and the wider farm area. They undertake orienteering course activities for all ages groups. Here is an example of an innovative activity:
Groups are given the aim of finding their way to a downed aircraft with radioactive material! At each control on the way they collect a different piece of protective clothing. When they get to the crash area they must remove the radioactive material back to the start without touching it!
Excellent activity for problem solving, group dynamics and leadership.
And these activities are not just for school children! Here you see local university students undertaking team building and leadership training on the permanent courses in local woods.
